Herman Miller Workplace Resources has been using Khameleon software since 2003. More than half of the Denver company's 85 employees use the Khameleon system directly.

Rebecca Bahnsen, director of IT, believes a key feature of Khameleon's system is the ease with which the staff can get accurate business data-information the dealership uses to improve processes and service clients better. This access is utilized by the management team as well, which meets regularly to review the data and prioritize business improvement projects. Their list includes customer projects as well as ad hoc projects focused on internal operations.

The results are impressive. One project utilized the Project Accounting module to allow them to attach time to actual orders. This allowed them to gather better information on costs associated with projects and to manage their staff more effectively. In another project, the dealership used Khameleon data to review sales volumes and evaluate success in penetrating particular markets. The reports within Khameleon help the dealership to monitor real data against projections to more quickly react to changing economic conditions.

Rebecca also cited Khameleon's retention of historical data for making it easy to respond to client requests for asset inventories. Employees don't have to wade through stacks of paper to figure out what customers bought during the past years because Khameleon has this information readily available.

Asked what she would tell a person considering Khameleon, Rebecca spoke of how much her dealership likes the system and the company. Regarding the initial startup, she said "While the training might seem daunting-we were in training fourteen weeks-it was worth every minute. I have not worked with a software company that is so supportive. That, in and of itself, is incredible. Khameleon always looks for ways to improve, and they keep their finger on the pulse of the customer. You just don't find that with other software companies."

Rebecca concluded by adding, "We just love Khameleon, which has helped us so much in running our business."
